Back from visiting family for Christmas, with some presents, a few extra pounds, some great memories, and a TON of photos. I'm still catching up on some sleep so only time for one tonight. It's a storyboard of a cute moment between my mischievous little nephew and his great grandma. More to come!

Sneak Peak - Randy, AnneLynn, and TAFFY (Atlanta Dog and Family Photographer)
Sometimes it's clear right off the bat who's the star of the household. Saturday was no exception: I got to spend some time with Randy and AnneLynn, who have been married for 25 years. They were super nice, really warm and fantastic people. But Taffy the dog did her best to be the center of attention....and mostly succeeded. Here's a sneak peak...

More from Paula and the boys {Atlanta Family Photographer}
Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!

Thrice as Nice
Not one, not two, but THREE boys! Mom has her hands full. I happen to think these three guys are worth it.....but then again, I am a bit biased, being their aunt. They're getting so handsome--I was blown away by some of these expressions. Here's more from our session in downtown Acworth:
This is my FAVORITE image from the entire day, I think.

My heart belongs to Daddy {Atlanta Baby Photographer}
That's what her onesie said, but I think it goes both ways: Daddy's heart is definitely wrapped around her tiny finger. Scot seems to have the magic touch with Ellie Rae, whether it's laying her on his chest to sleep or strumming a lullaby on his guitar.
Congratulations to Heather and Scot on this beautiful little addition.

Bryce {Atlanta Baby Photographer}
Today I got to meet my friend Stacy's baby. Lil Bub is 5 days old, and what a sweetie! His grandmother and aunt were there to visit, so I got to see what a blessing he is to not only Stacy and Wendell, but also the rest of the family.
So here is a sneak peak for the family, and our small group friends...

JUST got back from this session (and some quality time with friends Tania and Scott). Hard to believe that it all started here with their engagement session. Couldn't resist getting a few edited....she is SO beautiful.

A baby named Nina
There are several photographers whose blogs I follow because they set the bar for exceptional child photography. Carrie Sandoval is at the top of my list--she's a genius. I adore her clean, beautiful style.
This latest blog entry was particularly interesting, because the little baby and I share a name. I'll admit, however, that I did NOT have a head of hair like that as an infant.

Multi-celebratory Sunday
On Sunday our family celebrated Mom's birthday (the 18th) and their wedding anniversary (the 21st) as well as Father's Day. This triad of special occasions is fun, no doubt, but snuck up on us this year. Luckily a little team effort brought it all together: Paula craftily slipped a wedding photo out of their album, and had it restored and beautifully framed. She had already purchased a collector's edition DVD of "The Magnificent Seven" for Dad, and I got a card and Starbucks gift card for Mom. Then we ordered Tuscani pasta from Pizza Hut for lunch. Done!
We're entering the heat of summer, and Sunday the temperature was in the 90s. Waaaay to hot for the boys to be outside playing like they normally do at Grammy and Papa's house. Unfortunately, being inside in the AC can also lead to cabin fever for rambunctious little boys. Thank goodness for Cartoon Network!
There's a strange contradiction between the way they like to alternate wrestling with being affectionate. As cute as this moment was, it was equally brief. Within minutes there was a "Stop touching me!" incident and Aunt Nina had to claim the middle spot to maintain peace.
But I do LOVE these boys, stinky feet and all!

Hither and yon
From one side of town to the other, I was all over the place today. First I attended a baby shower at my friend Tania's home in Fayetteville.
Tania and Scott are special friends: they were one of the first couples I photographed when they got engaged. Now they are expecting their first baby in only two weeks. Scott's daughter Madison was full of energy, keeping everyone on their toes and "helping" Tania open the presents. She'll be a wonderful big sister.
After dropping off a friend who rode with me, I headed over to Decatur for my friend Ellen's solo exhibition show at the Sycamore Place Gallery. Ellen is a fantastically talented artist--this exhibition featured textured dry-brush paintings, and the theme was AIR FIRE WATER. They were fan-tastic.......really. Amazing use of color and texture. I want one! (Truth be told, I wanted THIS one, but somebody bought it.) You can view more of her work and purchase it here.
The gallery space itself is pretty darn cool: there's an alley that leads through an open garage door to the space. It was warm but not unbearably hot, so the perfect night to have an indoor/outdoor event like this.
And as usual things got slightly silly when the crowd dwindled at the end of the evening. I don't know these people, I swear--I just happened to be walking by with my camera!
