Baby Sydney {Atlanta Newborn Photographer}

Recently I made a trip to Anniston, AL to meet Sydney and her parents Carolyne and Justin.  The very first person I encountered when I pulled up to the house was Grandad, who was so sweet and offered to help me cart all my gear into the house.  It was very obvious he was excited and proud as punch about this first grandchild--just makes me all the more pleased to create some beautiful images this family can treasure.  

Dad Justin came home from work at the end of the session to cuddle his baby girl and get in on the pictures.  Poor guy!  He walked into his den and didn't know what had happened, with a posing bean bag in the middle and blankets and props absolutely everywhere.  By that point Carolyne and baby Sydney and I were in the living room, but we heard him come to a full stop and exclaim "Whoa."  [Just wait till she gets old enough to go shopping, Justin....you'll see that again, but with clothes and shoes.]

The nursery was so lovely--calm and soothing in neutrals with Justin's tiny new testament on the table and the cherished bear from his childhood watching from the bookshelf.

New Product: Metal Tin with Image CD and Proofs {Atlanta Family Photographer]

Although things are still in high gear wrapping up holiday orders, I'm excited about 2012.  The calendar is already starting to fill up with weddings and events, so it's time to get re-energized and prepped for another year.

One thing in transition is the Product Guide, with some new items being offered and some current items getting a makeover.  Digital Files are an important option for many clients, so I definitely wanted to expand the choices and offer some upgraded packages this year.  The metal tins I currently use were a huge hit, so that inspired the newest addition:  a digital image collection offered in a customized hinged tin, featuring an image on the lid, the CD housed inside, along with a stack of linen finished reference prints.  The tin is lovely by itself, and serves the purpose of housing the CD and prints.  Having the proof prints from a professional lab provides a reference for the client so they can see what the correct color and saturation looks like in the original image.  The linen finish of the paper is substantial and very pleasing to the eye.

Sneak Peak - Shilo and Lex {Atlanta Baby Photographer}

Recently I got to visit with Lex and his new baby sister Shilo for some pictures. Lex is an adorable and energetic little guy, and as soon as I found out he's a big fan of monkeys I knew we'd get along famously. (Only the night before I finished crocheting a new sock monkey hat--he liked it!) Baby sister was a sweetheart, and I know she'll be smitten with her big brother when she's older.

Recently I got together with some lovely ladies I've met through Clickin Moms, an online community. We met at McDaniel Park in Duluth, a beautiful park with walking trails and lots of scenic spots. For Valentine's Day, my cousin Heather got a special gift from her husband, Scot. He asked me to come do a session for her with their precious baby, Ellie Rae. Here are some of my favorites...

That's what her onesie said, but I think it goes both ways: Daddy's heart is definitely wrapped around her tiny finger. Scot seems to have the magic touch with Ellie Rae, whether it's laying her on his chest to sleep or strumming a lullaby on his guitar.

Drove to South Carolina today to spend a bit of time with my cousin Heather and her husband Scot, who just welcomed a daughter on Tuesday. Little Ellie Rae is just beautiful, and strongly resembles her Daddy. It was a brief visit, but I'm so glad I went. Here's a quick preview...

A few more from yesterday's session. Lil guy was not sleepy at all, but "awake" only meant one eye open most of the time! His mom says that's a typical face for him right now.



I had made this hat and thought it would look good on him.....it did, although it seemed a shame to cover up that hair.

Today I got to meet my friend Stacy's baby. Lil Bub is 5 days old, and what a sweetie! His grandmother and aunt were there to visit, so I got to see what a blessing he is to not only Stacy and Wendell, but also the rest of the family.
