Fine Art Book and Accordian Albums - Pet Portraits {Nina Parker PETS}

With every photo session that I do, there are various points in the process that make me particularly happy.  For me, the session itself and the time spent with clients is a huge high point, whether it's a wedding day, an engagement session, or a portrait session with dogs or people.  Another BIG moment is seeing the joy that people get from their images when they first see them.  But another awesome and uniquely satisfying experience is seeing and touching beautiful pieces of photographic art created from my images and knowing these items will bring my clients joy for years to come.

After Bella and Zoe's session their mom purchased a print to frame, which was her main goal from the session.  But she also selected a hardcover fine art book in order to enjoy all of her images, and added a set of mini accordian albums for her purse and office.  For these books a rich, earthy linen cover was chosen for both the fine art book and the matching accordian albums.

A sheer vellum page protects the pages at the front and back of the book.

Mini Accordian Albums come in sets of three and can be utilized to have a brag book at work or in your bag, or also as gifts for family members.

Hidden magnetics in the covers hold the little books closed when they are folded.

The accordian albums feature beautiful linen textured paper.

The mini albums have 12 panels combined on both sides and usually hold 6-12 images depending on design and how the images are laid out.

Hardcover fine art books and accordian albums are available for all sessions but are especially popular for babies, pets, and engagements.  They can be ordered with fabric or leather covers, or with photographic wrap covers.  There are several samples available--feel free to call 770-330-5414 to schedule a consultation to talk about scheduling a session and creating a book of memories for your family.

Vintage Furniture for your wedding

Have you considered bringing your couch to your wedding?  It's not such a crazy idea if you have any unique or vintage furnishings in your home.  Family pieces or lovingly selected antiques can bring a unique quality to your celebration, whether you use them to create seating, accent the decor, or as photo  props.

When Sabrina Weinstein and Chris Van Wart wed this summer at Lake Lanier, she had several beautiful pieces there for her bridal portraits.  They were then moved to the reception area, where guests posed in a photo booth style area during the evening's festivities.

Four Inch Fold is based in Atlanta and has a wide variety of GORGEOUS pieces to choose from.  http://fourinchfold.com  Whether you are interested in rustic pews or an sofa, big pieces like upholstery or smaller, detailed items, they have you covered.  Check out this gorgeous styled shoot from Mike Colon using vintage furniture.

Here are few peaks from Four Inch Fold's blog.  They came upon these goodies at a garage sale.  Wouldn't you love for someone with an eye like this to help you style your wedding?

Awesome benches from an old church.  Can you imagine how fantastic these would look on a green lawn during an outdoor ceremony?  Yes, please!

You can mix and match pieces to create your own look.  This sofa and chairs is grouped on a lawn as a seating are for guests during cocktail hour.

Here a vintage desk is accented with a mailbox, feather pens, and vintage stationary to create a place for guests to sign in and write notes of love and well wishes for the bride and groom to take with them.

This beautiful Louis chair is available from Snyder Rentals out of Charleston.

So there you go, some inspiration and information on using vintage furniture for your wedding.  Many brides take a DIY approach, which is great if you have the skills and the time.  For other brides, it makes sense to delegate and outsource some things and stay focused on the aspects of your wedding that are within your abilities or time constraints to handle.  Remember to enjoy your wedding planning while maintaining your sanity and your joy at being......THE BRIDE!

There's big......and then there's BIG {Atlanta Wedding Photographer}

It's always exciting to hear the roar of the FedEx truck heading through the parking lot on a day when I'm expecting a delivery to arrive......cause I know he's coming to bring me goodies!   Whether they're samples for display at a vendor's business or items the client has ordered for their home, it's like Christmas when these boxes arrive.

Today I opened the door to a very large box.  Ohhhhhh, yeah:  big canvas!  This box, holding two substantial canvas gallery wraps, has been very eagerly anticipated.

First, the disaster now called my living room.

Now, the canvases.  These are 30x40, a great size for over a mantel, a wall with a vaulted ceiling, or as the center of a grouping.  Honestly, there's just nothing like seeing a favorite or artistic image rendered in this size.

Product Spotlight: Luxe Album

This super gorgeous album turned out SO beautifully, I've been really eager to share it. The album design is custom, and features a photo cover and textured leather for the spine and back. The Luxe Album arrives in a leather album box and silky slipcover. The pages are substantial and inflexible, giving a rich, heavy feel as you flip through the images. The design is gutterless, meaning there's no gap between the pages, allowing for the design to flow across and feature panoramic designs. The Luxe album is included in the Black Label package, the most inclusive offering, or brides selecting more basic packages can opt for an album upgrade from a basic album to the Luxe.

New Product: Metal Tin with Image CD and Proofs {Atlanta Family Photographer]

Although things are still in high gear wrapping up holiday orders, I'm excited about 2012.  The calendar is already starting to fill up with weddings and events, so it's time to get re-energized and prepped for another year.

One thing in transition is the Product Guide, with some new items being offered and some current items getting a makeover.  Digital Files are an important option for many clients, so I definitely wanted to expand the choices and offer some upgraded packages this year.  The metal tins I currently use were a huge hit, so that inspired the newest addition:  a digital image collection offered in a customized hinged tin, featuring an image on the lid, the CD housed inside, along with a stack of linen finished reference prints.  The tin is lovely by itself, and serves the purpose of housing the CD and prints.  Having the proof prints from a professional lab provides a reference for the client so they can see what the correct color and saturation looks like in the original image.  The linen finish of the paper is substantial and very pleasing to the eye.

The new Digital Collections are available NOW!

Custom Photo Cover for your Smartphone {Atlanta Photographer}

Who has their cell phone with them AT ALL TIMES? Hands up! Oh, don't even play, people.....you know you do. In this amazing day and age, most of us are rarely parted from our mobile devices except for the shower. Notice, I left out sleeping, because I know of more than a few who sleep with their Crackberry/iPhone/whatever either under the pillow or clutched in their hand.

While my beloved Blackberry usually sleeps on the entry table, not the nightstand, I'll admit to keeping it close once I'm up and about. To that end, I got tired of the boring protective case it was wearing. A fairly sturdy case is a must for me, since I've been known to drop my phone often occasionally. But that sturdy plastic was TIRED.....ugh. So when I stumbled over the option of creating my own custom case, I jumped on it immediately. While I had plenty of ideas, the thought of keeping an image of my family nearby as well as potentially advertising my business seemed just the thing.

So, here's the new case for my Blackberry adorned with the family portrait I took as a Mother's Day gift to my mother and sister. (Pretty cool, huh?)

It's Green! It's Spring! {Nina Parker Photography - Atlanta Wedding Photographer}

Other than the pollen (is my car supposed to be that color?) and the thunderstorms (watch out for falling trees!), I love springtime.  I really, really do.  The days are longer, there's more daylight to be outside, and everything is blooming and turning green.  And when I say everything is turning green, I mean everything.

Case in point, check out these mini albums that just came in.  LOVE!  There's nothing I don't like about these.  At 4 inches square they're a great size to carry in a bag.  The apple green leather I picked is gorgeous and supple, and the contrast with the beautiful fabric pouches is divine.  The covers are substantial but not too thick, and the pages are high quality photo paper with a nice weight.  To put together these samples I used images from Katie and Justin's wedding a few months ago.  Click here if you want to see photos of their day.

Without question these are a welcome new addition to product offerings.  I'm so pleased with these little books that I'll probably order another sample newborn clients. A little book like this would also make a great Mother's Day gift, allowing her to show off her latest family photos.

Call me at 770-330-5414 to schedule a spring or Easter session and see other cover options for these new mini books!

Christmas Card Options {Atlanta Family Photographer}

It was tough to decide this year on a Christmas card design, so I came up with several I liked.  Kudos to Mom and Dad (and Lucas the dog) for patiently enduring the photosession, some of which took place outside in the freezing cold.  Ya'll rock!
