Danette and Thomas Engagement {Atlanta Wedding Photographer}

You know how you've talked on the phone with someone and just can't wait to meet them in person and put a face with the voice? That's how I felt about finally meeting Danette after our many phone calls. And she and Thomas were such a joy to work with--their engagement session is truly a favorite. Dannette has such a sweetness about her, and I love the way Thomas looks at her, like he's found a treasure and can't believe it himself. Their wedding is next weekend and I am counting the days until I get to spend more time with them. So, without further ado, here is part 1 of Danette and Thomas' engagement session in Marietta. (More photos tomorrow!)

Mother's Day 2012 {Atlanta Family Photographer}

It's been brought to my attention that I still haven't blogged several spring family functions. It's been super busy around here! So, without further ado, we'll start with the lady of the day......Mom!

A major issue that had to be addressed early in the day:  updated height status.  This is a big deal around these parts, as the (formerly) little dudes are shooting up at an alarming rate.  Caleb is only 10 but had already passed 5 feet and has Dad square in his sites.  And Levi is right behind him.  Oh, dear.

Look out, Dad.  They're going to be looking you in the eyeballs sooner than you think.

A little relaxation and conversation in the living room between Grandma Parker and Paula.

There is no escaping the Wii.  It's powers are VERY entertaining.

Paula's gift from Ian was a handmade pendant that he drew at school, then cured in the oven by his teacher.  It really turned out cute.

He's the real deal....need I say more?

Yep, this one is the dapper don who likes to be dressed up if at all possible.  Love his affection for ties and the penny loafers I bought him.  :)

Ian gets a snuggle from his great grandmother.

Always ready for his closeup.  And I do mean always!

Congratulations Sabrina and Chris {Lake Lanier Wedding Photographer}

HUGE congrats to the fantastic Sabrina and Chris, who were married Saturday at Lake Lanier Islands. It was a sunny, windy day and a beautiful wedding celebration that lasted well into the night.  Can't wait to share more from their day, but here's a sneak peak.....

Sample Goodness - Spiral Ring Mini Book for The Savage Garden {Atlanta Wedding Photographer}

One really nice perk of being a wedding photographer is seeing lots of really fantastic work, whether it's an exquisitely made gown, an artistic and beautifully decorated cake, the transformative effects of a professional makeup artist, or the mouth-watering creations of a talented caterer. Easily one of the most impressive things I've seen at a wedding is the work of The Savage Garden. Danny and his team have created florals and event decor for two weddings I've photographed this spring, and both were unique, exquisite, personal, and beautifully detailed. As a gift to them I put together a spiral bound mini-book of the work they did at Cassie and Sean's wedding at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.
