A few weeks ago I was thrilled to drive up to Chattanooga to photograph a very special event. My lifelong friend Gretchen had planned a birthday birthday party for her mother, Madelyn. It was a beautiful evening of laughter and celebration, with many friends and family members sharing stories and giving thanks for the impact she's had on our lives.

On July 29, 2011, family and friends gathered in Chattanooga to honor and celebrate this wonderful lady who has meant so much to us. It was a lovely evening of good food, old friends, stories, laughter, tears, and emotion. Happy 70th birthday, and may you have many, many more years to speak into the lives of those fortunate enough to know you.
